Welcome back to the Fireplace! It’s been a beautiful season for us as we explored the concept of Divine guidance. It’s exciting to have you here again! In the previous episode, we looked at the instruments of Divine guidance. In this episode, we would be looking at the concept of purpose and waiting on God for divine guidance.

You must realize that without God’s guidance, you cannot fulfill your destiny
You must realize that without God’s guidance, you cannot fulfill your destiny. Beyond knowing what to do, you must understand how to do it. This is what is called purpose.
No matter how much you know your purpose, if you lack direction on how to fulfill it, failure is inevitable. Many people in the body of Christ today believe they understand their calling and placement, yet they struggle because they do not know how to function effectively within their divine assignment. If you have discovered your purpose but do not understand how to channel it to impact lives, then it could be a big problem.
My discipler explains purpose in three ways. To discover your purpose, you must: Look upward– Focus on God. Look inward – Examine how God has uniquely designed you. Look outward – Identify the people God has called you to impact.

There is a set location where you must be to fulfill God’s mandate upon your life.
Most of us focus only on looking upward and inward, neglecting the importance of looking outward. Looking outward means identifying your marketplace—the specific people God has called you to serve. Divine direction is essential because purpose is geographical. There is a set location where you must be to fulfill God’s mandate upon your life. If you are meant to be somewhere but choose to stay in another place, you will struggle in the school of purpose. Your divine audience is positioned at a specific place, waiting for you. That is why some people are called to certain countries, regions, or communities.
A biblical example is Jeremiah’s calling
“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you;
Before you were born, I sanctified you;
I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
Jeremiah 1:5
Here, God revealed both purpose and guidance to Jeremiah:
“I have ordained you a prophet”– This speaks of his purpose. “To the nations” – This highlights divine direction.

As a child of God, hearing from Him should be natural.
God did not just give Jeremiah an assignment; He also provided specific instructions on how to carry it out. Jeremiah was not called to be a prophet to a single city, town, or country. He was a prophet to the nations. Many years later, his words are still read worldwide. This is the power of divine guidance.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8 Because God’s word is eternal. When God speaks, He speaks from an eternal perspective. His words are not bound by time—they are ever-relevant. It is also important to understand that purpose unfolds progressively. During Jeremiah’s lifetime, his prophetic ministry was mainly directed toward Israel. However, centuries later, his writings continue to impact people across the world. Until there is divine guidance in your life, there is a limit to what you can accomplish for God. Therefore, you must pray that God opens the gates of divine direction in your life.
“Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right hand, or whenever you turn to the left.”
Isaiah 30:21

No matter how passionate you are about serving God, if He is not leading you, you will not go far.
Your ears are meant to hear God. If you are struggling to receive divine direction, it means something is blocking your spiritual hearing. As a child of God, hearing from Him should be natural. If this is not your experience, the hindrance must be removed. Divine Guidance is a matter of life and death. No matter how passionate you are about serving God, if He is not leading you, you will not go far.
Make a covenant of direction with God. One of the covenants I have with Him is the covenant of divine guidance. God assured me early in my walk with Him that He would lead me with His eyes, be with me always, and never forsake me. This promise has shaped my life and decisions. Pray that God will establish a covenant of direction with you.

True strength comes from resting in God’s guidance.
Lets look at the Mystery of Waiting. As a student of the secret place, you must understand the lifestyle of waiting. True strength comes from resting in God’s guidance.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.”
Psalm 119:105
David understood this principle. Hence, you must reach a place where you willingly surrender to God’s leading. When God’s light shines upon your life, following Him becomes a second nature.
“Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the Lord,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.”
Isaiah 40:28

When God’s light shines upon your life, following Him becomes a second nature.
There will always come a point in your life when your human strength will fail you. A man of God once shared how he prayed for 30 minutes when suddenly a bright light appeared on his wall. The moment he saw the light, he was empowered and prayed for six straight hours. What happened? Strength was supplied!
“He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might, He increases strength.”
Isaiah 40:29
To receive divine strength, you must first acknowledge your weakness. Until you surrender your self-sufficiency and recognize your need for God, you cannot go far in life.
“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,
A broken and a contrite heart—
These, O God, You will not despise.”
Psalms 51:17
Before God can help you, you must admit that you need Him.
“Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall.”
Isaiah 40:30

Until you surrender your self-sufficiency and recognize your need for God, you cannot go far in life.
The Youth represent the peak of human strength. Yet, even at their prime, young people still experience exhaustion. However, there is a higher dimension in verse 31:
“But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:31

When you align with divine guidance, you step into supernatural strength.
Whenever you see “but” in the Bible, it signals a shift— meaning God is stepping in. Naturally, you may feel weak, but when the supernatural intervenes, everything changes. Moses understood this truth. That is why he said:
“If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.” –Exodus 33:15
He knew that without divine guidance, nothing else mattered.
When you align with divine guidance, you step into supernatural strength.
“They shall mount up with wings like eagles.”
This is a mystery. When you are plugged into God, exhaustion loses its grip on you. Stay connected to divine direction, and you will soar effortlessly in your purpose. See you in the next episode. You are blessed!
